Suzuki is a world renowned name in the field of passenger cars and their vehicles can be seen running in every nook and corner of the world. Suzuki Motor Corporation is a multinational Japanese auto industry and the company has its headquarters at Minami-Ku, Hamamatsu Japan. First Pace of Suzuki
In the year 1909 Suzuki Loom Works was founded by Michio Suzuki in a Hamamatsu seacoast village. Suzuki manufactured weaving looms for the silk industry that was booming in Japan. The company exported a special type of weaving loom in the year 1929 and devoted 30 years to developing these highly intricate machines. Later the company diversified and started developing passenger cars. By 1939 the company was able to come up with several prototypes using the four-stroke, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engines with aluminum cast gear box and crankcase. These vehicles were able to generate 13 HP with less than 800cc displacement. When world word II occurred production of new vehicles were halted because they were declared nonessential items by the government.
Suzuki Became Global
After war Suzuki developed a two stroke 36cc one HP motorcycle and got subsidy from the government to further develop the patent. That was the starting of Suzuki Motor Corporation and the company never looked back. Now it has automobile manufacturing plants all over the world and the important ones are in the USA, Australia, Canada, India, Pakistan and more. The Maruti Suzuki in India is the most important research and development arm apart from Japan and it is also the largest in terms of vehicles sold.

Notable current models that are on the roads include Alto, MR Wagon, Lapin, Wagon R, Solio, palette, Swift, Splash, SX4, Every, Every Landy, Ertiga, Kizashi, APV, Jimny, Landy, Equator, Escudo and Carry. The company has earned revenue of US$31.367 billion as on 2011 and has put out 2,878,000 units of automobiles till the same period. Suzuki employs 52,731 workers in their plants located around the world.
