Plymouth Colt information:

Introduction:

The Dodge  Colt and the identical Plymouth Champion and Plymouth Colt, were subcompact automobiles promoted by Dodge  and Plymouth from 1970 (MY1971) to 1994. They were attentive imports from Mitsubishi, originally twin babies of the rear-wheel generate Galant and Lancer family members before moving to little sized front-wheel generate Mitsubishi Mirage subcompacts in the year 1979. With the year 1994 release of the Dodge/Plymouth Fluorescent, Chrysler experienced no need to proceed promoting attentive imports under these badges, although the large eagle Summit (also a Mirage clone) stayed available until 1996.

What’s new for 2014 Plymouth Colt note?

The 7th version of Plymouth Colt was the same as Plymouth's edition, and also the same as the Large eagle Summit. As regular, they were all basically badge-engineered versions of the Mitsubishi Mirage/Lancer. The two-door vehicle body style was exclusive to the Northern United states industry, where SUVs are usually unpopular and area is hardly ever an issue. There was no SUV edition of the 7th version Dodge/Plymouth Colt. Initially available in Platform and GL versions, the ES (with apparently more wearing intentions) was included later.

HOW MUCH?

Plymouth Colt automobile was not promoted in the U. S. Declares for the 6th version (though it was promoted in Canada), as it would be changed by the Plymouth/ Dodge Shadow Sundance in the Dodge/Plymouth collection for 1989. In Canada and the United States only the Large eagle Ms Windows vista, a new design that changed Plymouth Colt automobile ongoing when Plymouth Colt experienced an upgrade. The automobile body-work was available to Americans as an Large eagle Summit however, and the Dodge/Plymouth Colt cars came back for 1993-94 as a version of the next version Large eagle Summit. The Dodge/Plymouth Colt, Large eagle Summit, and Mitsubishi Mirage of this version used a 1.5 or 1.6-litre inline-four motor.

FUEL ECONOMY:

A design operated by the 1.6-litre four-cylinder was version for the year 1989 design season only. There are a said 1500 of these exclusive versions to have been version. The motor was only originated in the Mirage and Plymouth Colt GT Turbocompresseur, that were recognized by their floor results and spoilers (although these areas were also available for a cost as add-ons to other design ranges) and by their specs not normally discovered on base design varies such as power seats, power windows, power hair, and power showcases, exclusive shaded internal and seats, as well as a 150 mph/9000 rpm evaluate group.

STANDARD FEATURES AND OPTIONS:

The Turbocompresseur Colt/Mirage Turbocompresseur was one of Car and Car owner magazine's Ten Best for 1989. A normally aspirated edition of this motor was available for the following decades Colt GT; with power down to 113 hp. Beginning automobiles have little rectangle-shaped front side lights in dark places, while later designs obtained more streamlined, flush-fitting models. The best design was the "E" (for Economy), followed by the "DL" and lead by the turbocharged (but short-lived) Leading and GTS Turbocompresseur.

SAFETY FEATURES:

Plymouth Colt Chariot, while never available with the turbocharged motor, did get a more highly effective 1,755 cc motor in the four-wheel-drive edition. Compared with the FWD edition, the DL 4x4 was not available with an automated transmission While the SUV Colts were changed for 1989, Plymouth Colt Chariot stayed available until the year 1991 release of the Mitsubishi Colt.

UNDER THE HOOD:

Power of the 1.5-litre 4G15 was up to 82 hp (61 kW) thanks to multi-point power hypodermic injection. Top rate was 160 km/h (99 mph).

Plymouth Colt Chariot was remodeled in the year 1991, now in accordance with the RVR, and ongoing in manufacturing until the year 1996 design season.

WHAT WE LIKE:

1.5 And 1.8 liter four-cylinder engines were used, with the bigger motor originally only available to four-door Colts. While the wearing versions originated in the 6th version were not restored, the two-door ES was available with the more highly effective sixteen-valve SOHC 1.8 for the year 1994 design season. The more compact motor has 92 hp (69 kW) while the bigger edition has 113 hp (84 kW). The past Colt Chariot (Mitsubishi RVR) stayed promoted until 1996, while the Dodge Colt was changed by the new Fluorescent after the year 1994 design season.

Sports

Not unlike the relevant Mirage, Plymouth Colt and other identical automobiles were well used in rallying, both in the U. S. Declares and overseas. Plymouth Colt was the most commonly used of these versions, showing in activities through the nineteen seventies and 1980's. A Colt was run to a third-place complete in the first ever Son*Drift move in the year 1973, and recurring the task the following season, as well as a third period of time in the year 1982.

The Plymouth Colt was originated from 1976 to 1980 as a rebadged edition of the Mitsubishi Lancer Celeste, not to be confused with the rebadged Mitsubishi vehicle promoted as the Plymouth Colt beginning in the year 1979.

WHAT WE DON’T LIKE:

The new edition, with individual front side lights rather than then it reduces of the past version, became the year 1974 Dodge Colt in the US, available in the same body styles as the first one. The bottom motor also stayed the same, but a bigger G52B "Astron" motor became recommended (standard in the GT coupe). This one designed 96 hp at 5,500 rpm. It scores different from 79-83 hp for little sized one and 89-96 hp for the bigger motor in different journals.

A four-speed guide or three-speed automated stayed available, but for 1977 a five-speed became available (standard in the GT and Slide carousel coupes). The Slide carousel, presented in the year 1975 along with bigger bumpers, was more magnificent and taken a red and white-colored paintjob. For 1977, the "Silent Shaft" edition of little sized motor became available, and was fixed as conventional devices in GT and Carousel rides. The release of Dodge Colt "Mileage Maker" intended there was a mix of second and third version designs in the year 1977.
