Ford F-150 Heritage information:

The Ford F –150 Heritage Is Still Very Much Alive! But How Is It Holding Up?

The never-ending spree of the Ford F series is still at hand .After 60 decades of supplying the consumers with nothing but good quality cars, the Ford F –150 Heritage is certainly proving to be one of the most popular models of the series ever to be produced. In fact, it is the highest selling model of the entire series, even though it is still in production. What makes this pickup truck so good? Can it really live up to today’s customers standards? If we were to trust the amount of sales this car has seen, it would certainly lead us to believe that this car has quite a few features to offer.

What are the features of this model?

It is believed that the Ford F –150 Heritage is one of the strongest, most reliable models even today. Although it has been produced 10 years ago, it appears that it can still stand up to even some of the newer models as a good choice. This particular pickup truck came in to replace the previous model. With that in mind, the design or the features have been changed drastically, leaving the Ford F –150 Heritage to both look and feel just like the previous model did. The only notable changes which can be noticed are in the engine and the manual transmission, but as far as interior and exterior designs go, they are practically the same. It has been noted that the Ford car industry released this model with the sole purpose of selling it at a much lower price, as to allow the users to purchase this fine vehicle more easily.

Could I grab an upgrade?

As the Ford F –150 Heritage wasn’t really meant to be a new model to begin with, is completely understandable to see that it lacks any outstanding upgrades available. Anyone who was hoping to find a whole list of upgrades and options will inevitably be disappointed, as no such things have been offered. However, keen users will be able to shop for spare parts, which isn’t quite as impressive, but at least those will be at their disposal. Other than the spare parts, users may choose to have their truck painted, which is probably the only significant option which may change the way this pickup truck looks. To your relief though, the car seems to be performing quite well as it is. After all, it was only supposed to come to aid towards customers who were unable to afford the previous model.

What kind of an engine does it use?

The Ford F –150 Heritage, similarly to the previous models released is using the 4.2L V6 cylinder engine with 202 horsepower at 4800rpm, connected to a five-speed manual overdrive transmission. As for torque, it has been known to achieve 252lb –ft at 3400rpm. Considering that this car is dating back to 2004, we can safely assume that these are some quite impressive features even today. Even though the car itself has quite a few fundamental disadvantages in comparison to more recent models, it still managed to remain popular and quite demanded on the market.

Does it come with a large fuel tank?

The picture seems to be improving for the Ford F –150 Heritage in this area, but only slightly. Thanks to the fuel tank, capable of being loaded with 30 gallons of fuel, this pickup truck seems to have quite a steady supply of fuel going for it. It uses regular fuel, so there won’t be any need to spend any extra money on gas as well, which is a good thing. We might be approaching the bad part of the story. This pickup truck has been rated was a really poor fuel economy. In fact, it has been known to use 20mpg, which directly makes it consumes a large amount of fuel after a very short time. This makes it quite fuel hungry, possibly listing it as not so much of a satisfying choice for potential customers.

Is it at least safe to drive?

Overall, in terms of safety the Ford F –150 Heritage hasn’t been able to make such a breakthrough either. While the crash test certainly came up with high ratings, the obvious lack of the safety features which should be employed in every car is easily noticeable in this example. Thankfully, the car strong body and cage have been built with safety in mind. Of course, there will always be a couple of seatbelts for the driver and passenger, but there haven’t been any airbags or security or safety systems discovered, which is not meant to come as a surprise,  seeing as the cars of this type didn’t have the technological advancements today’s cars do.

Should I buy it at all?

Yes and no. It is difficult to decide, because right from the start we know that the Ford F –150 Heritage was supposed to make the serious more affordable to the users. In regards to that, it certainly succeeded in its mission. Its price is fairly cheap, you can easily find it and buy it. But when you look over the general features, you can’t help but notice just how outdated it is. It simply is unable to match up to what a car should look today. With that in mind, purchasing it isn’t such a bad idea either. If you are looking for relatively cheap car which will serve its purpose, you might have found your match right here. Unfortunately, if you are looking for a ton of features or upgrade options, you won’t be as likely to find what you were looking for. There is much left to say about it, seeing as it is a decent car, at least for the time it was created in. The reason is so popular today, despite the obvious disadvantages is because it is extremely reliable. Users have been known to inform that they have used the car for over 10 years, and it never once failed to start. This makes for quite a good testimonial, but even if that was so, 10 years might be just a tad too much for this car to be considered a viable purchase. Regardless, the final choice is up to you, and it all comes down to the battle between the pros and cons.
