First generation

The first generation Eagle Talon cars were actually manufactured and launched in the 1989. Furthermore, another model was launched in 1990 and it enjoyed a great production run till the end of 1994. As a matter of fact, the era of the DSM automobiles was known as the first generation and it was also called as “1G”. Interestingly, there were two 1GA models, the ones that were launched over a period of 1990 to 1991 and the ones that were launched between 1992 to 1994. The first 1GA models were recognized by features like pop up headlights and six bolt engines. On the flip side, the second 2GA models were characterized by composite style headlight that also featured integrated turn signals. The six bolt engine that came with the Eagle Talon were literally manufactured before April 1992 and it was given this name because of the number of bolts that connected the flywheel and the crankshaft.

Second generation

The 2G or the second generation Eagle Talon cars were launched in 1995 together with the Mitsubishi Eclipse counterpart. With the launch of thee Eagle Talon during this period the infamous Plymouth Laser variant was completely eliminated. The Talon and the eclipse cars launched during this period shared lots of features. Mechanically, these two variants were almost similar with respect to the engine. The engines were redesigned in the turbo charger sections by adopting a new technology for air intake as well as exhaust. This strategy, ideally gave additional power to the second generation series of Eagle Talon cars. The new turbocharger with the name T25 was installed in the second generation Eagle Talon cars and the turbo boost, as a result got increased to a value of around 12 psi. The second generation of the Talon enjoyed a great run as it saw increase in the sale within short duration. However, by the end of the November in 1997 the company launched the last model. By the year 1998 the company stopped the promotion and production of the Talon completely. The last car that rolled out of the factory was on February 10, 1998.
