Are you car lover? Then you must have the knowledge about famous and comfortable Daewoo Nubira . It is the first generation car and released to the market in 1997, in three super version Sedan, hatchback and station wagon. The word Nubira derived from the Korean Word which means crisscross, the name was given with the aspiration that it would be sell in every corner of the world.  Daewoo  introduced this car with many improvements so that it gain maximum attention from the car buyers like increased passenger space,  decreased noise problem in engine with less harshness and vibration problem. This car was famous as Sedan and the station wagons mostly in European market. Basic model of nubira are 1.6 and 1.8 or 2.0 liter inline four gasoline engines, no diesel version was ever introduced but petrol version was good and got some really good review from car owners.  Other car that Daewoo is known for are Lanos and the midsize Leganza both the cars are reasonably prized.  Nubira was Daewoo’s dream car to make it name in the market, it comes as a front-drive compact sedan and wagon.

Models and Features

Nubira was available in 4-door sedan, 5-door hatchback, and a station wagon all the three were different in its own way, the sole reason of introducing this in three different model so that company can cater everyone in market as per the need and finance. Buyers even have the option they can choose that base "SE" models or the premium "CDX”. Both the base version was good but CDX has edge over SE version with heated mirrors, and an in-dash CD player. Both the version had manual transmission system as its standard feature and both had option of 4 speed auto. When you drive this car you will get 115 mph and 185 km/h Top Speed with Acceleration of 0-62 Mph (0-100 kph)

Options and Packages

Not too much option you get but still its sedan comes in base SE and step up CDX price levels and The Nubira wagon is available only in the CDX trim and you can select car as per need and financial choice.  The entire version specifically introduced to provide car to every range so that company can able to attract maximum buyers. If you desire a car which could provide good interior and exterior performance than Nubira could be the answer as this car was available in reasonable price range as compare to other car in the same segment.

Under The Hood:

The car got every thing that possible in this price range; this car had front brake of Ventilated Discs and rear with Drums. You will get 185/65 R 14 tire size make the drive awesome. As far as dimension is concern the car had 177 in and 4496 mm length, width 66.9 in and 1699 mm. Roof size was good as tall person would not face much of problem with Height of 56.3 in and 1430 mm. front and rear track is 57.6/57.6 in and 1,463/1,463 mm with Wheelbase of 101.2 in or 2570 mm, reasonable Ground Clearance that is 5.9 in or 150 mm. front wheel drive was given in this car with manual 5 speed gearbox for fast and smooth ride experience.

Fuel Economy

Its cylinder is L4 with displacement 1598 cm3 and comes in power that 78 KW @ 5800 RPM, 107 HP @ 5800 RPM, 105 BHP @ 5800 RPM. As far as Torque is concern it had 107 lb-ft @ 3800 RPM, 145 Nm @ 3800 RPM. Petrol version had CO2 Emissions186 g/km. driving this car would provide Top Speed of 115 mph or 185 km/h with the Acceleration of 0-62 Mph (0-100 kph). If you drive this car in city than the fuel consumption would be 22 mpg US or10.7 L/100Km, at highway 38.6 mpg US or 6.1 L/100Km. it provide average fuel efficiency.

Safety Ratings and Technology

No crash-test has been recorded yet but every model of this car have dual front and side airbags with ABS. CDX version had gains traction control and also have Etched windows and immobilizer for security, optional alarm and no deadlocks. Daewoos have always been strong as far as mechanical issues are concern but this car suffered very basic problems like loose-fitting trim. This car look amazing and feel different look wise this car is well screwed together, but the material used for interior fitting plastics could be better quality after all Daewoo name was attach.

Conclusion:

I have seen and researched about this car   and i must tell you that the car really looks good. It looks grand and very unique especially from the back. Daewoos come with a great warranty; overall the car gives reasonable driving experience.  The car provides good value for money that means you will get best features in reasonable price range. Comfortable sitting is another feature that makes the car ride wonderful again in much reasonable cost. Interior and exterior design is well equipped. People who had good driving experience might find it indifferent ride, handling is little difficult for some but once your hand gets set it get easy and road holding could be little trouble. Daewoo is facing real difficult financial condition and trying hard to come back in the market although it will take time for people to trust the company all over again.
