Chrysler Town and Country information: |
Chrysler Town and Country the most adored mini van
Introduction, what's New for 2014
Chrysler Town and Country is one of the highest-ranking members of Chrysler's family with front-wheel-drive minivan. This vehicle has long demand and it one of the most practical vehicles with a dash of luxury inside and out. This company is always given wood-grain decals, leather seats and a standard V6 engine, and lace with all the new technique navigation system, tri-zone climate control and a power-operated lift gate. Country was one company that allocated mechanical work with less upscale Dodge and introduced Caravan and Grand Caravan of current generation. As time passed Town and Country introduced some of the ground breaking amenities made this vehicle most popular. Some of these amenities are seating system that had fold-flat capability and that was also available for second and third row. It also has Stow n Go floor storage compartments even when seats are engaged. This vehicle offered driver-side sliding doors to making it more beautiful. Chrysler Town and Country is one of the last vehicle offered stability control and a rearview camera. Many people believed that reliability concerns are continuous. This vehicle is without any doubt Chrysler's finest van but there are many other mini vans available in market in quite a low pricing.
Models and Features
As far as models are concern the entry level model packed with 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic wipers and headlights along with fog light, roof rack and heated mirror, dual power-sliding doors and a power rear door. When these vehicles were introduced, they were three smart levels that were LX, Touring and Limited. LX was powered with 3.3-liter V6 producing 175 horsepower that was matching to a four speed automatic transmission in best possible manner. Touring model was equipped with 197-hp 3.8-liter V6 matching the level of six-speed automatic transmission but the most appealing and most loved one was limited with the 4.0-liter V6 paired along with six-speed transmission, the engine produces 251 horse power that provides brilliant quickness to the van.
Options and Packages:
The best about these vans that they all were made with wheel drive option but this option was no more in minivans in 2005 although get side curtain airbags and seat-mounted side airbags were available. All the generations were good enough to attract buyers only fourth-generation Town and Country model fails to provide consistent reliability. New generation were made with all the new and upgraded technology like rearview mirror, triple zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, an eight way power driver seat, cruise control, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, conversation mirror and last but not the least 115-volt AC power outlet. Than you may have other options also such as electronic features and to name few voice-command functionality, USB charging ports, USB/iPod interface, six-speaker audio system with a 6.5-inch touch screen and many more.
Under The Hood:
I you look inside in this minivan than you will get to see the leather creased cabin equipped nicely with every model you choose. As far as material quality is concern it was sometimes hit and sometime big miss, but in between the vibe is indisputably a lavish one. Seat comfort never was any problem in Town & Country but deeply stretch out seatback cushions in the second and third rows make an odd seating posture not even comfortable. Cargo space was ample in these mini vans if seats are folded flat than 143.8 cubic feet best among competition and even if seats in place it provides 33 cubes cargo space.
Fuel Economy:
This mini van is quite powerful with its 3.6-liter V6 rated produces 283 horsepower and 260 pound feet of torque which provides great driving experience. The engine gets power to drives the front wheels with its six-speed automatic transmission. The estimated fuel consumption is 17 mpg city and 25 mpg at highway and 20 mpg combined. With so much power and possibilities this mini van can go 0 to 60 in 8.1 seconds, which is average performance of the engine in this class. Although driving experience is always been smooth with these mini vans no matter what power the engine may produce.
Safety Ratings and Technology:
Time to me the company upgraded and added new and most advance safety measures such as 4-wheel ABS, Front, rear and third row head airbags, Dual front side-mounted airbags, Child seat anchors, Emergency braking assist, Ventilated front disc / solid rear disc brakes, Rear door child safety locks, Engine immobilizer, Front fog/driving lights, Auto delay off headlamps, Dusk sensing headlamps, 2 front headrests, 2 rear headrests, Passenger airbag occupant sensing deactivation, Stability control, Traction control, Electronic brake force distribution, Rear height adjustable headrests, Post-collision safety system, Passenger head restraint whiplash protection system, Tire pressure monitoring, these all safety precaution made Town and Country one of the safest minivan available.
Conclusion:
Without any doubt Chrysler Town and Country was and still is loved mini van and also was sleeker and more refined than most minivans of this era. Well equipped with new and innovative amenities of the time. It is best solution for those who regularly need their van to supply double duty as a transporter of people and stuff. Company made many changes but still there are other minivans which are more appealing because of their refined driving manners and better reputation for reliability which always been a problem with Town and Country. Town and country can might not be your first choice still it’s worth considering to comparing.
