Bentley Motors Limited is a leading luxury automobile brand, which has got a global presence. The company engineers, designs, and manufactures different model vehicles and automobile parts. With its headquarters in Crewe, England, the Bentley Motors Limited is functioning as a fully owned subsidiary of the Volkswagen Germany since 1998. The 2014 Bentley Continental GT V8 S is the latest model released by Bently, which will hit the roads this year.

Bently was founded by W. O. Bentley in year 1919. Later, Rolls Royce purchase the company in 1931 and the later in 1998, again purchased by Volkswagen AG. This purchase included vehicle design, modeled nameplates, the production and administrative facilities, and the Rolls Royce grille shape trademarks. The 2014 Bentley Continental GT V8 S

Bentley first introduced the Continental GT V8 model a year back. The highlight was this car’s lower-output V-8 engine, which fell a little short of the output of the Conti GT’s W-12. It was evident that the company was rightly concentrating on new buyers who were looking forward to a less expensive model. There were two things which seemingly muddled this move. The first is that V-8 was almost as powerful as the W-12 with a lesser weight and the second reason is that GT V8’s price tag was impressively lower than that of the W-12’s. In effect, the Continental GT V8 S is a sportier V-8 model that comes close to the W-12’s output with a lower price tag. The car made its debut in the 2013 Frankfurt auto show.

The new W-12 model from Bentley is slicing the difference between V-8 and W-12 even thinner. Now V8 S is what the GT Speed is to as to what W-12 is to the GT, which can be considered as a hotter variant with the same engine. When in the same context, the V8 S looks far more charming than the specs suggest. It has got more power than the standard GT V8 offering 521 HP and 502 lb-ft.

The GT V8 S’s powerful output is coming from the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-L V-8, which is used in the non-S GT V8, which is backed up with the same eight-speed automatic transmission system. The all-wheel drive system is also kept the same. If also has got rear-biased 40/60 torque split and Bentley claims that the upgraded Powertrain can offer 0-to-60 in a 4.3-second. The top speed is 192-mph and a 4.5-second sprint to 60 and 191-mph top speed in the convertible variant.

The added speed of V8 S is coped with a fully worked over suspension, which is a more tweaked version of the air-suspended, and double-wishbone front as well as the multi-linked rear setup. For the beginners, is sits about 0.4 inch closer to ground and the spring rates got increased by 45% and 33% on the front and rear respectively. The bushings got stiffened up to 70 percent and the rear anti-roll bar got stiffened by 54 percent. It can be expected that the cars price tab may fall between $181,425 and $202,425 for the coupe and about $199,025 and $222,125 for the convertible.
