Nissan’s Flagship Crossover: 2015 Nissan Murano

The looks of the 2015 Nissan Murano might appear to be extreme, but the design of the nameplate has a history that dates back to its models from the 1st generation which was introduced in the year 2013. Murano is high on the style that comes under a budget.

It is the semi-luxurious crossover of the mid-size crossover segment. With two rows that can accommodate five passengers, Murano is Nissan’s flagship crossover. The countenance of this crossover is far much aggressive. The blackout piece of trim that covers each of the D-pillars gives an impression as if the roof was floating and a long thin glass that extends from the backside front windows supports it.

Nissan has added an extra 2.5 inches to the length and 1.3 inches in the width and has also done some shaving to the height so that the crossover appears somewhat wider and lower. This is a design that gives athletic looks, especially its profile, and the aggressive stance of the crossover is great. Rear legroom has been increased by 2.4 inches while the hip room, head room and shoulder room hasn’t changed much.

It is incorporated with a 3.5 litre V6 engine that produces 260 horsepowers and a torque of 240 lb-ft. It is estimated that the forthcoming Murano model will improve a little on the front drive as compared to the models from the previous generations. When tested on the speed, the crossover gives 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highways. It is being claimed by Nissan that the fuel efficiency will enhance by 20% that is because of the reduction in weight by 130 pounds, aerodynamic work and active grille shutters.

The four trim levels of Murano are being carried to the 2015 model as well, with negligible changes, except for the top spec LE trim that has been renamed as Platinum. The S, SL, SV levels of trims are offered with either all- or front-wheel drive. It comes with standard equipment that includes dual-zone climate control which is automatic, a 7 inches touch screen, USB port for the rear seat, keyless entry, push button start, backup camera,  LED front lights and tail lights, Bluetooth, aluminium wheels (18 inches), and automatic headlights.

There will also option for LED headlights, navigation, fog lights, heated outboard rear seats, powered front seats, 8 inches touch screen, Bose audio system with 11 speakers, heated steering wheel, tailgate with power opening, trick Around View monitor, remote start, rear seats that can be power folded, blind spot warning, cruise control system, cross traffic alert, collision avoidance and warning, panoramic sunroof which is extremely gigantic, and 20 inches wheels.

This model is the latest Nissan model that is built at its plant in Canton, Mississippi. The model will be available for sale in the later part of the year while the prices will be declared sometime near its release date. It is also certain that it won’t get knocked by other style leaders soon.
