Targeting the Indian market, the 2015 Maruti-Suzuki SX4 S Cross is a modern-looking, gloss and ultra-dynamic crossover that comes with a slew of handy equipment. The Maruti was developed to fill the glaring gap in the marketplace for compact sport-utility and SUVs. Marshaled with its loads of technological features, luxurious interior and trim and contemporary looks, it is poised to capture the new generation of buyers who are in pursuit of high-tech crossovers. Nevertheless, the Maruti SX-4 is not alone in the market; it will lock horns with renowned cars like the Renault Duster.

On the mill department, it is available in either petrol or engine. It is motivated by a 1.6-liter diesel engine that is Fiat-inspired producing roughly 88 Kw peak output at 6,000 rpm along 156 Nm of twist at 4,400 rpm. Conversely, the 1.6-liter diesel DDis mill churns out a similar 88 Kw of output at 3,750 rpm and a magnificent 320 Nm of twist at 1,750 rpm. The diesel mill mates to a six-speed manual gearbox while the petrol power unit combines with a five-speed manual transmission with a CVT option.

On the interior side of the spectrum, the S-Cross seems like its aping e sporty sedans though longer as there is need to optimize on space.  Up front, the Suzuki badge, logo and grille make first impressions while headlights are day-running. The side styling of the car lean towards a burly profile and claddings that impute it may possess good off-road abilities. Shoppers can opt for 16” or 17” aluminum wheels. The rear is defined by twin tail lamps, scuff plates are used all over the vehicle as well as black claddings and roof rails ensconced on the roof-top.

As for the interior, the rear can accommodate two passengers comfortably, though a third will be distracted by the transmission tunnel. In front, the center console is simply designed, with handy components like dual cup holders mounted contiguous to the brakes and a cubby opening beneath the AC knobs. The touch screen is outfitted on the dashboard with multi-controls. Hard, sturdy and high-grade plastic is used on multifarious features and wrapping, iterations of Suzuki interiors. The instrumental cluster is adorably made with blue ring orbs and offers adequate vehicular data for the driver.  The S-Cross’ has a 420-liter cargo space rear compartment that comes with a shopping hook.

At global auto stores, the Maruti is offered with four-wheel-drive technology, equipped with a typical suspension system and utilizes MacPherson struts in front but the rear incorporates torsion beams.

Since it was spawned by an emerging niche as the Indian auto industry gets immersed in the globalization vortex, its fate is highly unprecedented. But the automaker is competing against the likes of Terrano and Renault Duster, thus, its loads of bespoken features may give it an edge. To this end, the new S-Cross will lure a throng with its novel urban styling, impressive diesel options and exclusivity. Nevertheless, affordable price tagging and fuel economy are factors that determine the performance of any car in India.
