The Lotus Evora was ousted from the US market owing to the noncompliant air bags, but is has been resurged with a complete safety system and a powerful engine. The British manufacturer hopes the immense power output and refined fascias will enable it gain toehold in a highly competitive segment. This is the 2016 Lotus Evora 400 which will be available in the US as well as European markets. Overall, the Lotus Evora is poised to satisfy luxury shoppers and those seeking a sumptuously crafted auto with exclusivity in its style but at an affordable price.

Starting with the powertrain, the Lotus Evora 400 adopts a 3.5-Liter supercharged V6 that spews out 400-horsepower and 302 lb-ft of twist, a significant improvement to the outgoing model. This propels the machine from zero to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds with a maximum speed of 186 mph. Also notable is the traction control system that incorporates triple settings to change driving conditions from Drive, Race to Sport. Additionally, the exhaust system with switches is all-new, it tunes a pacified or loud cabin.

On the exterior department, the frontal end is akin to sports cars, with humongous vents, conspicuous splitter, and glistening LED running lights that enhance a modern familiar outlook. At the rear, the Evora 400 faces the knife painstakingly, with lights looking deeply sunken in the fascia, the tripartite-element spoiler is overly pronounced, diffuser is properly incorporated as is the bumper, giving the fascia a flatter and wider look. Other new components include light wheels and a new style for the side-viewing mirrors. Put in a nutshell, the Evora appears ultramodern, sporty and has an aggressive stance.

Inside, the first thing you will note is the narrowed door sills and panels that allow easier movement in and out. In the cabin, notables include a refreshed lightweight leatherette-wrapped steering wheel and comfy-light frontal seats. The overall cabin is a stretch of high-grade materials like Alcantara and Scottish leather, depending on the trim level, there are specific touches. At the cockpit, the driver encounters a series of new gauges with white figures on a dark dials for eligibility while transmission knobs for the automate transmission on the upper-portion of the dashboard. You may want to opt for lighter seats. For infotainment, the Evora 400 has top-ranging entertainment system with lightweight, compact –door speakers and A-pillar tweeters.

For safety, standard air bags are obligatory as Evora cannot afford the mistake it made earlier; this will be consummated by a traction/stability control system, cruise control, electronic force distribution system and automated braking system.

Lotus has a long way to go owing to its past near-collapse tragedies and is using this brand to reinvigorate its logo in the market. However, with the new Lotus Evora 400, that is well-equipped, has powerful power units and modern styling for the cabin and the outside, it is more likely to capture a larger market share, especially in the US where it will break a long sales lull.
