2015 Bentley Mulsanne Speed: Ironically caught in the sluggish lane in an auto dubbed Speed

The 2015 Bentley Mulsanne Speed comes with profound insights, rich in sumptuous elegance and is equipped with a supercharged and powerful engine that makes it a head-turning car in urbane cities. The sedan comes in the niche of supercars that is already in a vortex of rivalry in embracing potent mills, new technology and high-class comfort for the occupants. With a well-defined stance and distinct lines on the outside, the new Bentley is a continuum of entrancing craftsmanship. Though not as fast as its rival model counterparts, the sedan will appeal to buyers who are want a class-exclusive and elegant model.

At the heart of the 2015 Bentley Mulsanne is a 6.8-liter V8 that spews out 530 horsepower and 811 lb-ft of twist. This mill has its origins in the 1950s, retaining architectural designs like bore perforations and a pushrod-actuated valve-train to the parent engine. With many decades of refinements, the V8 has embraced features like dual turbochargers, variable valve timing and switches to four cylinders to undercut fuel use. The new Mulsanne Speed brings newer cylinder heads, changes evident in the standard Mulsanne models. Tuning adjustments confer the car additional 25 horsepower as well as 59 lb-ft of twist. The potent mill sprints the car from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and its top speed is 160 mph.

The new Mulsanne will pioneer in providing carbon-fiber materials to supplement the sprawling quilted, spongy and hand-sewn leatherette wraps inside. Overall, the cabin is a yawning copious compartment, in addition to the leatherette sea; there are fine-trimmed woods and dexterously-designed metals at touch points. Lavish and meticulous attention is directed to all components that are touched by occupants, including arm rest, knobs, seats, switches and door handles. The opulence is not limited while shoppers are allowed bespoken customization. Leather coats are observable on the seats, dashboard, door paddles, sun visors, headliner, interior stowage spaces and parcel shelf.  There are various wood veneer options, including Burr Walnut, black-stained walnut, and piano black among others.

On the standard equipment, the Mulsanne comes full-fledged with infotainment with an 8” display un on the Central Multi Media with interface controls, inbuilt 60 GB music storage, a six-disc changer CD player, one DVD, twin SD card readers and a special iPhone. There is a satellite radio, phone with Bluetooth connectivity, a bottle cooler, twin flutes as back-seat options and a humongous sunroof. The exquisite package brings reclining and massaging back seats, iPod-enthused stations and loads of technological applications.

For the safety department, the 2015 Bentley Mulsanne Speed has not yet undergone crash tests but is quintessentially equipped owing to that exclusive price tag. To this end, it is outfitted with head, thorax and full-curtain air bags in all seats, three-point bolstered seat belts with electric adjustability, memory feature, pyrotechnic pre-tension reliever, force limiters and child seat tether belts.

From an overall perspective, the Mulsanne has been designed with exclusivity in mind, thus it is able to blend overly-luxurious features with high-performance. Though plunging into a heady segment, it is redolent with elegance and technology; this will give it that edge.
